Columbia, SC-Clemson assistant golf coach Jordan Byrd teamed with his father, Jim Byrd to win the 39th annual South Carolina Father-Son Championship at The Windermere Club in Blythewood, SC on Thursday. The duo combined to shoot a five-under par 67 in the modified alternate shot format. They had five birdies and no bogeys in defeating three teams by four shots. The Byrd team had nine-hole scores of 34-33.

The Byrd family has had strong ties to Clemson over the last 10 years, beginning with the enrollment of their youngest son Jonathan, who was an All-American at Clemson from 1997-00, and is now in his fifth year on the PGA Tour.
