IPTAY to Celebrate 75 Year Anniversary

Clemson, SC – IPTAY will celebrate its 75-year anniversary prior to the Clemson vs. Georgia Tech football game on Saturday. IPTAY was established to provide scholarships for student-athletes and create the resources essential to remain competitive athletically. Saturday’s celebration will honor 75 years of outstanding support from 22,000 IPTAY, Tiger Cubs, CATS, and Collegiate Club members.

During the ceremonies, IPTAY will recognize its current Board of Directors, Student Advisory Board, past presidents, and make two special presentations. Larry Brown, from Hilton Head, SC, will receive a game ball for his attendance at 376 consecutive Clemson games and 47 years of membership. Dr. Glenn Lawhon will also receive a game ball for attending 375 games, his 63-year IPTAY membership, and for serving on the IPTAY Board of Directors for 50 years.

Dotting the “I” in Tigers during Tiger Band’s pregame performance will be former Executive Secretaries of IPTAY George Bennett, Allison Dalton, and Joe Turner, and current executive Secretary Bert Henderson. Central Spirit also will release 16,256 balloons to represent each member of IPTAY during the 2008 fiscal year.
