CLEMSON, S.C. – The ITA recently announced its preseason rankings, and three Tigers received recognition. Going into the season, Teodor Giusca is ranked #80 in singles, Giusca and Yizhou Liu are the No. 15 doubles team. Freshman Nini Dica is the fifth ranked newcomer.
Giusca played singles on Courts 1, 2, 3 and 4 last season and accumulated a 13-5 record. Giusca competed with Daniel Labrador, Spencer Whitaker and Liu in doubles on Courts 1, 2 and 3 and ended the season with a 10-5 record.
Yizhou Liu also competed on every court and saw success with doubles partner Teodor Giusca and went 5-5 on the season.
Freshman Dica is the second-highest ranked international player among the top 25 classes.
“I am really proud of Teo for his preseason singles ranking along with Teo and Yizhou for their top-15 doubles ranking,” Head Coach Robbie Weiss said. “They both have worked so incredibly hard and can’t wait to see them continue their success this season. I’m also really excited to have Nini here at Clemson and feel confident he will be a force in college tennis. I can’t wait to help him achieve his goals on and off the court.”
The Tigers continue their fall schedule as they head to Auburn to compete at a Hidden Dual on September 17-19.
