CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson’s Matisse Farzam took home ACC Freshman of the Week honors on the back of strong singles performances at the ITA National Indoor Tournament in Dallas this past weekend where he went 4-0 in tiebreaker situations en route to a 2-0 singles record. This marks the third time in the past four weeks that a Tiger has earned ACC weekly recognition with Viktor Markov winning ACC Player of the Week on Jan. 27 and Feb, 10. The award is Farzam’s first honor overall.
Farzam’s Weekend Results – Singles
Farzam led Santamarta Roig (No. 1 Virginia), 6-3, 4-1 – unfinished due to clinched point.
Farzam defeated Claverie (No. 23 Florida) 7-6 [10-8], 7-6(5).
Farzam defeated Matsuoka (No. 22 Arizona State), 7-6(4), 7-6(5).
Farzam’s Weekend Results – Doubles
Farzam / Marko Mesarovic defeated Sarr / Minarik (No. 22 Arizona State), 6-4.
