Double-Double from Mia Moore Leads Tigers to 78-38 Win Over American

Clemson, S.C., Nov. 13, 2025 – A 16 point, 10 rebound performance from senior guard Mia Moore led Clemson (3-1) to a 78-38 win over American (1-1) Thursday night at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Junior guard/forward Rusne Augustanaite (16 points), senior guard Rachael Rose (11 points) and graduate forward Demeara Hinds (10 points) joined Moore as the four Tigers in double figures. 

Clemson’s offense was ignited by a 20-3 run in the second half. The Tigers made a season-high 14-3-pointers, the second most in program history. Senior guard/forward Hadley Periman brought in a team-high 10 rebounds, and added eight points of her own on perfect shooting (2-2 3PT, 2-2 FT). 

The Tigers held the Eagles to just 27 percent shooting from the field (13-of-48) while forcing 11 turnovers on the night. Clemson hauled in 15 offensive rebounds as a team, leading to 10 second-chance points. Molly Driscoll led American in scoring with 13 points, and Lexi Salazar added nine on three 3-pointers. 

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED

The Tigers got off to a fast start, shooting 9-of-20 from beyond the arc in the first half.  Clemson took a 41-20 lead into the break, including a 10-0 run in the second period. Junior guard/forward Rusne Augustinaite connected on three of her four three point-attempts in the first half. The Tigers outscored the Eagles 37-18 in the second half, leading to a 78-38 win.

  • Clemson is now 7-2 in home nonconference matchups in the Coach Poppie era.
  •  Clemson remains undefeated at home this season (2-0).
  • The Tigers captured their first meeting in series history against the Eagles.

  • Periman (10 rebounds) grabbed double-figure boards for the second game this year.
  • Periman (8 points) shot 100% on the night with 2-2 3FG and 2-2 FT.
  • Four players hit two or more 3-pointers in tonight’s game: Periman (two), Augustinaite (four), Rose (three), and Moore (three).
  • Clemson knocked down a season-high 14 3-pointers, just one shy of matching the program record of 15 (N.C. State, Dec. 29, 2024).
  • For the second time this season the Tigers saw four players in double-digit points and two performers log double-figure rebounds.

UP NEXT

Clemson jumpstarts ACC action, hosting No. 22/21 Louisville on Sunday, Nov. 16. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m. and the game will air live on ESPN2. The game is also Student Appreciation Day, which includes a student t-shirt giveaway, student raffle, and dorm storm competition.
