Delahoussaye Fires Final Round 66

Clemson, SC – Brent Delahoussaye fired a final round 66 and Brian Duncan added a 67 to lead Clemson to a season best 276 team score in the final round of the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate at Birmingham, AL. The Tigers finished 10th in the 12-team field that included 10 of the top 25 teams in the nation.

Clemson finished with an 855 team score after team rounds of 295-284-276. Augusta State won the title with an 825 score, including a final round 272. Georgia Tech was second at 829 and Auburn was third at 830. Second round leader Oklahoma State shot a 283 team score on Tuesday and finished fifth at 835.

Delahoussaye tied his collegiate career high with his 66 on the par 71 Old Overton Country Club Course. He finished at 215 for the tournament, he second best tournament of the young season. Duncan’s career best round of 67 showed his continued improvement in the event. The junior from Greenville had an opening round 79, then finished with rounds of 70 and 67 for a 216 total.

Martin Catalioto was the top Clemson player for the tournament overall with a career best 211 score for the 54 holes. The junior had rounds of 72-69-70. The 69 in the second round represented his career low round. Catalioto finished tied for 24th overall.

Senior Jack Ferguson finished with a 217 score after a 73 on Tuesday and Stephen Poole had a 225 total after a final round 76.

Kalle Edberg of Augusta State won the individual medallist honors with a 203 total, including a round of 66 on Tuesday. He won by two strokes over David Schultz of TCU.
