The last time the Tigers took to the cross country course in Blacksburg, Va., was during the 2012 campaign, when the Tiger harriers competed at the ACC Championship.
The competition will present a valuable opportunity for this year’s squad to preview the course which will hold the ACC cross country championship on Nov. 1st. The meet will also let the Tigers get back their competitive mindset, following a three-week layoff after their season opener. The meet will be well attended by ACC schools, as Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech and the Duke women will join the Tigers.
Last time on the course, Clemson competed at the Carolina Challenge and came away with two team titles. Logan Morris and Michael Smith paced the women’s and men’s teams respectively. Amelia Jones logged a personal best performance over the 5k distance and the men executed superb team tactics, allowing only 30 seconds to separate their top-five pack.
