Marina Miller

Position: Assistant Coach

Recent Clemson lacrosse alum, Marina Miller, joins the Clemson lacrosse coaching staff as assistant coach for the 2023-2024 season.

Miller joins the coaching staff after an impressive season with Clemson where she started all 18 games, scored 23 goals, registered 11 assists, forced eight turnovers, secured 33 draw controls and had 17 ground balls. She also notably scored hat tricks in four games. Her contributions led her to be selected for the 2023 Senior All-Star Team and the South’s All-Region Second Team. Before coming to Clemson, Miller played her freshman year at Penn State and then transferred to the University of Richmond where she played under Coach Kwolek and served as a team captain. In her collegiate career, Miller totaled 67 goals, 32 assists, 57 ground balls, 24 caused turnovers and 113 draw controls. She graduated from Richmond with her bachelors degree in 2022.

“We’re thrilled that Marina has joined our staff as an assistant coach,” said Coach Kwolek. “She was voted co-captain of our inaugural team, and showed such great leadership on and off the field. Marina will be a great fit with our coaching staff, she truly loves the sport of lacrosse and that shows every day with her energy and enthusiasm.” Coach Kwolek went on to explain that “the NCAA recently passed legislation allowing an additional assistant coach and Clemson is jumping right in, wasting no time in adding a fourth full-time coach to our staff. Once again, we can’t thank Clemson and the athletic administration for the incredible support. The resources and commitment to women’s lacrosse continues to pave the way for our student-athletes to have everything they need to succeed.”

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., Miller went to Pine-Richland High School where she was a four-year letter winner, two-time team captain, led her lacrosse team to back-to-back Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic League (WPIAL) titles and ended her high school career as Pine-Richland’s all-time leading scorer with 325 goals and 94 assists. Going into college, Miller was named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Player of the Year as a senior, a three-time All-American selection and a four-time All-WPIAL honor, a member of the Inside Lacrosse Power 100 for the class of 2018 rated as a 4.5 star prospect and ranked 39th in Inside Lacrosse Young Guns Senior Rankings.

I am so excited to join Coach Kwolek and the rest of the staff at Clemson” said Marina Miller. “Clemson is a special place with great people and amazing resources. I am thrilled to join forces with them to continue building a tradition of excellence for our women’s lacrosse program, setting the highest standard and helping our athletes succeed at the highest level.”
