Haley Bilbruck

Position: Assistant Coach • Player Development • Fifth Season

Clemson Volleyball Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr announced the hiring of Haley Bilbruck as the program’s Director of Volleyball Operations on June 15, 2021. Bilbruck, who previously oversaw the day-to-day logistics and operations of the Tiger volleyball program, was elevated to assistant coach for the 2025 season and also serves as Clemson’s Director of Player Development and Technical Coordinator.

In her current role at Clemson, is in charge of player development and is the technical coordinator. Her focus with the program is on developing comprehensive reports for individual player improvement with an emphasis on individual technical growth over competition to help each athlete reach their full potential. Bilbruck also serves as the liaison to the sports performance team, coordinating student-athlete performance and wellness plans. On the court, she is the lead coach for blocking efforts working alongside current Associate Head Coach and defensive coordinator Taylor Unroe on defensive efforts.

In her first season as assistant coach, the Tigers finished with 18 wins to mark the 32nd time in program history Clemson has finished with at least 18 victories. The victories were highlighted by opening with a perfect 12-0 non-conference slate – including 9-0 at home – to mark the best record to begin a season since 1990 and the longest winning streak since 2007. Clemson’s 11 home wins also were the most since 2014. Kicking off the season on a high note, the team defeated in-state rival South Carolina for the first time since 2023 and claimed a victory in Columbia for the first time since 1994. The Tigers also defeated California for the first time, took a set from No. 5 Stanford and defeated Syracuse twice to mark four-straight wins against the Orange. For the first time since 2010, the Tigers also defeated Florida State to snap a 20-game losing streak against the Seminoles and claimed the victory in Tallahassee for the first road win against FSU since 2007. From a stats perspective, the Tigers finished with 230 total blocks (1.98 per set) that included 67 solo blocks and 326 combined. Bilbruck guided senior transfer Nil Okur to 80 block assists and 90 cumulative blocks, while junior Kate Hansen finished with 86 total blocks, including a team-high 15 solo blocks. In total, four Tigers finished with double-digit solo blocks.

Before Clemson, Bilbruck previously served as a graduate assistant at Eastern Illinois University. Bilbruck was responsible for coordinating all travel plans, organizing on-campus recruiting visits and managing equipment for players and coaching staff. Prior to joining the Eastern Illinois Volleyball team, she coached for Pursuit Volleyball Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri from 2017-2019. 

Bilbruck played two seasons at Southeast Missouri State University as a right side hitter from 2017-18 after transferring from UNLV, where she competed from 2014-16. While with the Redhawks, Bilbuck was a Second Team All-Ohio Valley selection (2018), received the Pursuit of Excellence award and was the first player in program history to attend a USA Collegiate Volleyball National Team tryout at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Bilbruck received her bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State in Exercise Science in 2019 before going on to earn her master’s degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Illinois in 2021.
