Christina Esposito

Position: Assistant Coach | Offensive Coordinator

Christina Esposito enters her second season as an assistant coach in 2025, with her primary responsibilities overseeing a dangerous Clemson offense and draw team.

In her first campaign with the Tigers, Esposito helped lead Clemson to program records in points, goals, shots, shots on goal and man-up goals. In the first year under her direction, several players saw career numbers and breakout years. Sophomore Kayla MacLeod, even with missing four games due to injury, recorded career highs in goals (47) and points (57) and became Clemson’s career leader in goals. Lindsey Marshall notched the most goals (60) and points (73) in a single season in Clemson history. Brooke Goldstein, in her first year with the Tigers, became the program’s leader in assists (42). Natalie Shurtleff continued to grow as a two-way phenom with 57 points and the second-most assists on the team (21) in 2025.

The draw circle also saw massive improvements under Esposito. Under her tutelage, primary draw taker Kira Balis exploded for a Clemson record 148 draw controls in her freshman season, including the top-two single-game Clemson draw control records with 20 and 18 against Queens and Stetson, respectively, and was ultimately rewarded with an All-ACC Third Team and an IWLCA Second-Team All-South Region accolades. Two of the top three and three of the top 10 single-game team draw control records came during Esposito’s first year in charge of the circle.

Esposito joined the Clemson Women’s Lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant coach in July 2024; she brings a remarkable coaching resume and a distinguished playing career.

During the 2024 season with the Florida Gators, Esposito played a pivotal role in Florida’s outstanding campaign, where the Gators advanced to the NCAA semifinals with a 20-3 record. Under her guidance, Florida’s offense was one of the most prolific in the nation, scoring 405 goals (17.61 per game). Additionally, she coached a draw control unit that ranked among the top ten nationally, showcasing her ability to effectively develop offensive and midfield strategies.

Before her successful Stint at Florida, Esposito served as an assistant coach at Stony Brook, leading the Seawolves to a 15-4 record and an impeccable 7-0 run in the CAA in 2023. Her coaching career also includes being the Director and Head Coach of the Long Island Girls United Lacrosse Club and the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at St. Dominic High School, where she guided the team to its first-ever New York State Championship. Additionally, Esposito served as the Head Coach of the Long Island Jesters 2026 Team, which ranked among the top five club teams in the country during her tenure.

A native of West Babylon, New York, Esposito’s collegiate career was equally impressive. She was a five-year letter winner for the Northwestern Wildcats, earning IWLCA Second Team All-West/Midwest Region selection, and was a member of the All-Big Ten Team and the Big Ten All-Tournament Team in her final season.

“Christina is highly regarded nationally and knows how to win at the highest level as a player and a coach. She understands our landscape extremely well, and her enthusiasm for the game is contagious,” said Head Coach Allison Kwolek.

Esposito earned her Master’s of Sport Administration in 2017 and Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Northwestern University.
