Tempe, AZ – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (“ITA”) is proud to partner with four ITA member institutions once again to bring the ITA Division I Men’s and Women’s National Team Indoor Championships to college campuses in the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

Continuing the regional host site format that was piloted during the 2025 & 2026 Division I Team Indoor Championships, the 2027 and 2028 ITA Division I Men’s Team Indoors will be hosted by Clemson University and the University of South Carolina, while the 2027 and 2028 ITA Division I Women’s Team Indoors will be hosted by the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University.

Celebrated as two of the most prestigious championships on the college tennis calendar, the ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championships have been played every year since 1973 for the men and every year since 1988 for the women.

As four of the nation’s top programs, all four began the 2026 spring season ranked in the ITA Preseason Team Rankings (No. 7 Michigan (W), No. 13 Ohio State (W), No. 18 South Carolina (M), No. 25 Clemson (M)). Backed by large and passionate fan bases, these hosts are sure to deliver a first-class experience for student-athletes and fans alike throughout the tournament.

Both nestled in the state of South Carolina, Clemson and South Carolina bolster two of the top indoor tennis facilities across the collegiate level. Each six court facility has experienced extensive updates in the past few years to make for an elevated experience for athletes and fans.

“What an honor to have been selected to co-host the ITA National Indoor Championships with Clemson,” said South Carolina Men’s Tennis Head Coach Josh Goffi. “It’s the premier team event outside of the NCAA Championships and we’re looking forward to hosting the top programs in the country over the next few years. We’re excited to welcome everyone to Columbia and showcase the incredible atmosphere and support our fans provide.”

“We are honored to be selected to host the ITA National Team Indoor Championship,” stated Clemson Men’s Tennis Head Coach Brandon Wagner. “This is a tremendous opportunity for Clemson Tennis, our student-athletes and our community. Bringing the nation’s top talent to Clemson reflects the hard work and commitment of our staff, our administration and our supporters. We’re excited to showcase our facilities, our culture and the incredible atmosphere that makes Clemson such a special place.”

Clemson will host the semifinals and finals in 2027 in addition to the opening rounds of play, while South Carolina will host the semifinals and finals in 2028 in addition to the opening rounds of play.

Noted as two of the most consistent indoor teams in women’s tennis, Michigan and Ohio State will bring the nation’s best programs to their campuses beginning next spring. Both have been frequent faces at the ITA Team Indoor Championship in the past with each program participating in three of the last four tournaments.

“We are very excited to be hosting the next two ITA National Team Indoor Championships at the Varsity Tennis Center,” stated Michigan Women’s Tennis Head Coach Ronni Bernstein. It is a great opportunity for us to bring the top teams in the country to our world-class facility and showcase the best of college tennis. We are excited for our fans and student-athletes as they compete against the very best in Ann Arbor.

Michigan will host the semifinals and finals in 2027 in addition to the opening rounds of play, while Ohio State will host the semifinals and finals in 2028 in addition to the opening rounds of play.

“Hosting the ITA National Indoors is an incredible honor for Ohio State tennis and our entire community,” said Ohio State Women’s Tennis Head Coach Melissa Schaub. “For our student-athletes, it’s an opportunity to compete on our home courts against top competition, and for our fans and community, it’s a chance to showcase the passion, pride and tradition that define Buckeye tennis. This also represents the very best in collegiate tennis and we are grateful for the support that makes this possible. We are looking forward to the energy and excitement this championship will bring to Columbus.”
