COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Clemson concludes the indoor track & field season at the NCAA Championships this weekend in College Station, Texas. The Tigers will send five of the 49 student-athletes representing the ACC.
Chris McBride and Jeffrey Green will represent the men’s program while Sabria Hadley, Grace Barnett and Iana Amsterdam all qualified for the championship meet on the women’s side. Amsterdam, Barnett and Hadley are all making their second trip to indoor nationals while this the first NCAA indoor championship appearance for Green and McBride.
McBride and Barnett are scheduled to kick off the action for Clemson at 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday evening. Both will look to improve their Clemson indoor records this weekend as McBride enters the long jump with the 14th best mark in the nation and Barnett enters the mile preliminaries with the sixth fastest time in the country.
Green and Hadley will compete in the 400m and 200m prelims respectively with Green competing at 7:35 p.m., and Hadley scheduled to run at 8:30 p.m. Green qualified with the 16th fastest 400m time in the country while Hadley punched her ticket with the 17th fastest 200m time.
Amsterdam is Clemson’s first competitor on Saturday as she enters competition with the 11th best triple jump mark in the nation. Her event begins at 4:30 p.m.
