The Clemson women’s swimming and diving team sits in sixth place with 110 points at the conclusion of Day Two at the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.

Junior All-American Kim Routh won the 500 free with a time of 4:44.47, her new career-best time. Routh set the GTAC pool record and earned an NCAA “A” Standard time, which automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championship meet. The time is the third fastest in Clemson women’s swimming history. Routh becomes Clemson’s first individual ACC Women’s Champion since 2001 when Elise Thieler won the 100 fly.

Liz Guindon set her season-best time in the 200 IM (2:06.37) and earned a 20th-place finish. Shastain Leathers earned ninth-place in the one-meter diving event with a score of 243.95, earning Clemson nine more team points. Jessica Watcke also earned points with a 14th-place finish and a score of 219.30.

Competition resumes on Friday with the 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, three-meter diving and the 400-yard medley relay.
