Clemson Punches Ticket to National Indoors Following 4-1 Victory over Harvard

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson (2-1) defeated Harvard (1-3) by a score of 4-1 to punch its ticket to the 2026 ITA National Indoor Championships. This marks the first time the Tigers have made it to Nationals under third-year coach Brandon Wagner.

In doubles play, Clemson and Harvard split the first two matchups, each ending with a final score of 6-3. Henrik Bladelius and Viktor Markov dispatched Harvard’s Perera and Thornton. Shortly after, the Crimson tied the matchup 1-1 with Kincses and Murali defeating Matisse Farzam and Yannic Nittmann. Romain Gales and Noa Vukadin found themselves in a 5-2 hole against Blokhin and Privara, but were able to battle back. Down 5-4 with Harvard serving, the pair earned the break and drew even. Clemson went on to win the next two games to secure the first point of the day.

The Crimson struck first in singles after Murali defeated Gales, 6-4, 6-1, ultimately being Harvard’s only win of the day. Edoardo Chérié Lignière made quick work of Lee, losing only two games en route to a two-set victory. Markov joined the fun shortly after, rolling to a 6-4, 6-1 victory to grow the Tigers’ lead to 3-1. Marko Mesarovic added a 6-3, 7-5 victory to clinch Clemson’s dual win and its spot in the 2026 ITA Indoor Championships.

  1. Gales / Vukadin (CU) defeated Blokhin / Privara (HAR), 7-5.
  2. Bladelius / Markov (CU) defeated Perera / Thornton (HAR), 6-3.
  3. Kincses / Murali (HAR) defeated Farzam / Nittmann (CU), 6-3.

SINGLES (FINISHED 2, 6, 1, 5*)

  1. Markov (CU) defeated Privara (HAR), 6-4, 6-1.
  2. Murali (HAR) defeated Gales (CU), 6-2, 6-1.
  3. Vukadin (CU) and Blokhin (HAR), 7-6, 5-2 unfinished.
  4. Farzam (CU) and Perera (HAR), 7-6, 3-5 unfinished.
  5. Mesarovic (CU) defeated Kincses (HAR), 6-3, 7-5.
  6. Chérié Lignière (CU) defeated Lee (HAR), 6-0, 6-2.
