Clemson Men’s Cross Country To Compete At Great American Cross

Sept. 26, 2002

The Clemson men’s cross country team will compete at the Great American Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening. The race will be held on the Ballantyne Resort 8K course outside of Charlotte, NC. The Tigers will compete in the men’s college seeded division.

Clemson will face several ACC foes, including nationally ranked Duke (#18) and NC State (#7), along with Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Virginia. The field will also include fifth-ranked Northern Arizona, #8 Georgetown, #17 Colorado State and #25 Butler.

Scott Shaw and Jason Meany have led the Tigers this fall. Shaw finished fourth at the Mountaineer Open while Meany was eighth in that race. At the Georgia Bulldog Stampede, Meany led the Tiger harriers with a sixth-place finish, and Shaw was seventh. Following this weekend’s meet, Clemson men’s cross country returns to action on Oct. 5 at the Clemson Invitational.
