Jan. 4, 2000

CLEMSON, S.C. — Junior outfielder Patrick Boyd has been named a Preseason First-Team All-American by Baseball America. Boyd was tabbed as the #2 Major League prospect for the 2000 Draft by Baseball America last summer. He hit .390 with 17 homers, 70 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases in ’99. He joins North Carolina’s Tyrell Godwin and Texas A&M’s Daylan Holt on the first team at the outfield position.

Baseball America also picked Clemson #24 in its 2000 Preseason Poll earlier on Tuesday.
