CLEMSON, S.C. – Senior lefthander Michael Sharman (Woodstock, Ga.) was named ACC Pitcher-of-the-Week, announced Monday by the league office. He joined Duke’s Cider Canon, who was named ACC Player-of-the-Week, in receiving conference accolades. ACC baseball weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel and are announced on Mondays throughout the regular season.
Sharman was also named the Golden Spikes Award x D1Baseball Player-of-the-Week on Monday.
He pitched a complete game in Clemson’s 4-1 win over rival South Carolina in Columbia on Saturday. He allowed just four hits, one run and no walks with four strikeouts, facing only 31 batters in the first complete game by a Tiger since 2024.
Sharman threw only 78 pitches (67 strikes), as he threw a strike on 86 percent of his pitches. The 86-percent strike mark was the highest by a Division I pitcher in a game (minimum 75 pitches) since 2022.
His inning high for pitches was 11. He threw 8, 8, 7, 11, 5, 11, 9, 10 and 9 pitches in the nine innings, respectively. A total of 22 of the 31 batters did not see a ball, only two of the 31 batters had a two-ball count and none of the 31 batters had a three-ball count.
On the season, he is 3-0 with an 0.90 ERA, a .104 opponents’ batting average and 18 strikeouts against one walk in 20.0 innings pitched over three starts.
