Tigers Tame USF Bulls, 4-3

CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 28 Clemson (4-6) defeated USF (3-7) in 4-3 fashion Sunday afternoon in Tampa, Fla.

USF took the first doubles win after Llanes / Newton defeated Henrik Bladelius / Yannic Nittmann, 6-2. Clemson then took two-straight with Marko Mesarovic / Matisse Farzam and Viktor Markov / Noa Vukadin each won their matches 6-4, earning a 1-0 advantage over USF.

Farzam claimed the first singles win over Mruzek, 6-1, 6-2. USF earned their first two points of the day after Car defeated Markov 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, then Llanes defeated Nittmann, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. USF’s Verdese defeated Masarovic, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(8) to tie the match up 3-3. Bladelius fell in his first set, 5-7 against Cueller but went on to win the next two, 6-4 and 6-4, securing a win for Clemson, 4-3.

  1. Markov / Vukadin (CU) defeated Car / Cham (USF), 6-4.
  2. Llanes / Newton (USF) defeated Bladelius / Nittmann (CU), 6-2.
  3. Mesarovic / Farzam (CU) defeated Mruzek / Verdese (USF), 6-4.

  1. Car (USF) defeated Markov (CU), 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
  2. Vukadin (CU) defeated Cham (USF), 6-3, 6-3.
  3. Farzam (CU) defeated Mruzek (USF), 6-1, 6-2.
  4. Bladelius (CU) defeated Cuellar (USF), 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
  5. Verdese (USF) defeated Mesarovic (CU), 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(8).
  6. Llanes (USF) defeated Nittmann (CU), 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
