Final Results
CLEMSON, S.C. — The third round of The Prestige men’s golf tournament at the PGA West Course in La Quinta, CA was cancelled due to high winds on Wednesday. The official results will revert to the end of the second round on Tuesday.
Twelve of the 24 teams had started play on Wednesday morning, but the wins made it impossible to complete the round. Clemson was to tee off in the afternoon, but the round was called before Clemson hit a shot.
The Tigers finished 21st off the results from the first two rounds. The winds were near unplayable on Tuesday as well. Clemson played in the second wave on Tuesday afternoon when the winds were highest and finished with a team score of 314, 28-over-par. As a result of the winds it was Clemson’s worst team round of the year by 13 shots vs. par.
Oscar Bredkjaer had a three-over-par 74 to lead Clemson in the second round. Bredkjaer, Clemson’s leader in stroke average entering the week, has had rounds of 75-74 and his seven-over-par 36-hole score of 149 was best among the Tigers so far. His 74 in the second round was four shots better than any other Tiger. Senior Thomas Higgins shot a 78, while freshmen Sam Duran and Jackson Byrd shot 82. Senior Lucas Augustsson had a second round 82.
Clemson will return to the course at The Hayt Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., March 7-9.
