Clemson, S.C. – Fresh off a third-place finish to open the spring season, Clemson women’s golf returns to Florida this weekend to compete in the Spartan Suncoast Invitational, hosted by Michigan State at the Palm Aire Champions Course in Sarasota.
The two-day, 54-hole event will feature 36 holes on Sunday followed by the final round Monday morning.
ON THE SCORECARD
Clemson enters the weekend ranked No. 36 nationally and coming off one of the strongest closing stretches in program history.
At the Paradise Invitational earlier this month, the Tigers surged into third place after playing the final 36 holes at 15-under par – the best two-round performance in the field.
The momentum continues a season that has now seen Clemson finish inside the top five in five of six events.
THE FIELD
The Spartan Suncoast Invitational features one of the deepest fields Clemson has seen this season.
Twelve of the 15 competing teams are ranked inside the top 60 nationally, including:
Host Michigan State, Clemson, College of Charleston, Illinois, Kent State, Kentucky, Michigan, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Princeton and Purdue.
The event also includes Florida International, Iowa and Maryland.

THE COURSE
The Palm Aire Champions Course, a par-72 layout measuring 6,191 yards, serves as the signature course at Palm Aire Country Club.
Originally designed by Dick Wilson in 1957 and renovated in 2021 by Michael Benkusky, the Champions Course has hosted multiple professional events and remains one of the premier private layouts in Florida.
FORMAT
Sunday’s opening day will feature 36 holes with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
The tournament concludes Monday with the final 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m.
