Rhoden Finishes Fourth in 800 Meter Final, Women Set to Compete Saturday

EUGENE, Ore. – In the finals of the men’s 800 meters, Tarees Rhoden finished fourth overall with a new personal best time as he officially wraps up the third day of competition for Clemson.

800 Meters (Finals), Tarees Rhoden: 1:45.70 (PB), 4th place (First Team All-American) 

With an impressive new personal best time of 1:45.70, Tarees Rhoden secured a fourth-place overall finish in the men’s 800 meters. The time is the second-fastest time in program history for Clemson as he improves the No. 2 all-time spot which was already held by Rhoden this season.

After finishing in the top eight, Rhoden was named a First Team All-American as he is now a 4x All-American. The Tiger was also crowned a First Team All-American in the 2024 Indoor season after finishing X overall in the 800 meters.

Rhoden becomes the second, NCAA Outdoor First Team All-American for the Tigers as Courtney Lawrence was also given the honor after finishing fifth overall in the men’s shot put on Wednesday.

Up next, the Tigers will prepare for the final day of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene as the women are set to take the stage tomorrow, Saturday, June 8. Clemson is set to compete in the women’s 4×100 relay finals which is slated for 2:32 p.m. PT. Following the relay, Shantae Foreman is set to represent Clemson in the women’s triple jump with the event starting at 2:50 p.m. PT.
