Women Finish Second, Men Finish Fourth in ACC Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – At the 2024 ACC Indoor Championships, the Clemson Tigers impressed on the men’s and women’s side as both groups finished in the top five. The women’s group finished with 80.5 points to secure second place overall and the men finished in fourth place with 81 points.

“It was a great ACC Championships for both teams, we had some great individual champions,” Track and Field Director Mark Elliot said. “Now we turn our attention to the NCAA Championships.”

With their second place finish, the Clemson women earned their highest indoor championship finish since 2017. Overall, the Tigers earned 16 medals across all events, including five gold medals. Earning two gold medals for Clemson was Cameron Rose, as he is the fourth Tiger in program history to win both events (men’s 60m and 200m) at the indoor championship.

Meet Highlights:

• Cameron Rose picked up two gold medals as he was first to cross the line in the 2oo meters (20.85) and the 60 meters (6.58). Rose’s performance in the 60 meter moves him up to the No. 6 spot on Clemson’s all-time list as he is now tied with C.J. Spiller.
• For the third time in his indoor college career, Tarees Rhoden secured the gold medal in the men’s 800 meter as he crossed the line with a time 1:47.08, which marked a season best for him.
• Oneka Wilson recorded a first-place finish in the women’s 60 meter hurdles as she crossed the line with a time 8.04 to become the defending champion in the event as she also secured the gold at the 2023 ACC Indoor Championships.
• Earning her second medal of the meet, Shantae Foreman took the gold in the women’s triple jump as she jumped a new personal best of 13.68m to secure first place. The mark moves her to No. 2 on Clemson’s all-time list.
• Antoinette Van Der Merwe impressed in the 60 meter hurdles as she secured a second-place finish with a time of 8.10, setting the new national record for South Africa in the indoor women’s 60 meter hurdles. Van Der Merwe now moves into the No. 5 spot on Clemson’s all-time list for her performance. The senior was also tabbed Second Team All-ACC after finishing fifth in the 200 meter.
• D’Andre Anderson secured two silver medals as he recorded second-place finishes in both the 400 meter (45.85) and the 200 meter (20.87). His performance in the 400 meter moves him to No. 2 on Clemson’s all-time time list.
• In the men’s shot put, Courtney Lawrence threw 19.03m to secure second-place in the event and earn the silver medal for Clemson
• Jevon Williams recorded a second-place finish in the men’s 60 meter hurdles as he completed the event with a time of 7.84 to earn the silver medal.
• In the women’s 400 meter, Ken’Naria Gadson tabbed a third-place finish to secure the bronze medal as she crossed the line with a time of 52.86, marking a new personal best. Gadson’s time slides her into the No. 2 all-time spot for Clemson in that event.
• Aleksandra Stoilova earned the bronze medal in the women’s 60 meter as she finished the event with a time of 7.32 to come in third place.
• In the men’s 4×400 relay, the Clemson A team of D’Andre Anderson, Tahj Hamm, Daniel Kidd and Tarees Rhoden secured a second-place finish in the event as they crossed the line at 3:07.36 to secure the silver medal.
• In the women’s 4×400 relay, the Clemson A team of Ken’Naria Gadson, Courtney Williams, Gladys Chepngetich and Lashanna Graham secured the bronze medal as they finished the event with a time of 3:35.62 to earn third place.
• Tahj Hamm was tabbed Second Team All-ACC after securing a sixth place finish in the men’s 200 meter with a time of 21.48.
• In the women’s 800 meter, Gladys Chepngetich earned Second Team All-ACC after earning a fourth place finish with a time of 2:04.23.
• In the women’s pole vault, Annie Lineberger tabbed a new personal best as she cleared 4.03m to secure a seventh place finish and provide Clemson two points towards the overall score. Lineberger’s performance moves her into the No. 4 spot on Clemson’s all-time list.
