Durham, NC – Sophomore outfielder Jeff Schaus was named First-Team All-ACC in 2008. The team was compiled by a vote of the 12 ACC head coaches. Schaus was one of five first-team outfielders and was the lone Tiger to earn First or Second-Team All-ACC honors.
Schaus, a graduate of Barron Collier High School in Naples, FL, is hitting .337 with 12 doubles, one triple, 11 homers, 43 RBIs, nine stolen bases and a .440 on-base percentage thanks to tallying 37 walks against only 18 strikeouts in 208 at-bats. He is tied for the team-lead in homers and leads the team in on-base percentage.
Another important reason for his first-team selection is the fact that he hit a team-high .367 with a .445 on-base percentage thanks to 14 walks against only 10 strikeouts in ACC regular-season games.
