Season Highlights

2021 Outdoor Season

  • Earned second-team All-America honor by finish 11th overall in the 800m after running 1:48.14.
  • Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships (June 9-12) in the 800m and 4x400m.
  • Contested the 800m and 4x400m during the NCAA Preliminary East Region Meet (May 26-29).
    • Second-fastest qualifier coming out of the regional after running 1:47.39 in the quarterfinals.
    • Ran the second-leg of the Tigers’ relay, helping the team finish 11th overall and get the final time qualifying position.
  • Became the ACC 800m Champion after running a school-record time of 1:45.47, becoming the first Tiger to ever break 1:46.
    • His race result made him the new meet record holder and Paul Derr Track facility record holder
  • Made his debut for Clemson by racing the 400m at the Tiger Track Classic (March 19-20).
  • Jones won the quarter-mile at the Tiger Track Classic, crossing the line in 46.90.
  • At the UCF Knights Invite (April 23-24), Jones won the 400m in a season’s best time of 46.58.
  • Became the then-No. 3 all-time performer at Clemson for the men’s 800m during the Miramar Invitational (April 10),by  running 1:47.33.
    • Jones beat Matthew Centrowitz and Andres Arroyo in the meet. Both athletes competed in the 2019 World Championships.
  • Became the then-No. 4 all-time performer at Clemson in the 800m by running 1:47.49 at the FSU Relays (March 25-26).
    • At FSU, the time was good enough to finish second overall and cross the line as the top collegiate finisher.

2021 Indoor Season (Unattached)

  • The Bob Pollock Invitational (Jan. 29-30) saw Jones record a sizable personal best at 800m, running 1:46.52 to go sub-1:49 for the first time in his career.
    • Jones’ previous best was 1:49.79 set during the 2019 outdoor season.
  • During the Orange & Purple Elite (Jan. 9), Jones ran 1:16.16 for 600m to set the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex record.
  • At the Clemson Invitational (Jan. 15-16), Jones ran 46.93 in the open 400 meters.
  • Competed unattached throughout the 2021 indoor season after exhausting his indoor eligibility at Maryland.

Prior to Clemson

Will join the Clemson program with one season of outdoor eligibility remaining… competed in the 400 and 4×400 meter relay at the 2019 NCAA Division I East Region Prelims… placed fifth overall in the 400 meters at the 2019 Big Ten Outdoor Championships by running a personal best of 46.17… has been a part of 17 victories while at Maryland, with 12 wins coming in individual events… holds the Maryland school record for the indoor 300 and 600 meters and is a member of the teams which hold the indoor and outdoor school records for the 4×400 meter relays… will come to Clemson with notable personal bests of 21.41 in the 200 meters, 46.17 in the 400 meters, 1:16.76 in the 600 meters and 1:49.79 in the 800 meters.

Kameron Jones will graduate with his Master’s in Athletic Leadership following the 2021 Summer Semester.
