Avery Howard

2023-24

• Earned ACC All-Academic Team Honors
• Competed in all seven regattas this season
• Earned second place in the 500 meter petite final race at the Head of the Oklahoma in the 1v4+
• Finished 3rd  in the 2v8+ at the Secret City Head Race
• Placed 3rd twice and 1st once in the 2v8+ at the Cardinal Invite
• Earned a spot in the 2v8+ grand final at the Doc Hosea Invite where she finished fifth
• Finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 1v4+ at the Big 10 Invite
• Placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the 1v4+ at the Lake Wheeler Invite
• Competing in the 1v4+, she earned a spot in the ACC Championship grand finals with a 3rd place finish in prelims and finished 5th in the grand finals

2022-23

• Finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 2v4+ at the Lake Wheeler Invite
• Earned third place in both days of the 2v4+ at the Cardinal Invite

2021-22

• Member of the 2v4+ team that placed third at the Carolina Cup
• Earned three third-place finishes in the 1v4+ at the Cardinal Invite
• Place second twice in the 1V4+ at the Pac-12 Vegas Invite
• Rowed in the 1V4+ that earned first, second and third place at the Lake Wheeler Invite
• Earned third place at the Dale England Cup in the 1V4+
• Placed fourth in the 1V4+ at the ACC Championships

2020-21

• Member of the 2v4+ team that placed first at a home event against Oklahoma and North Carolina
• Member of the 1v4+ team that placed second at the Sunshine State Invitational
• Member of the 2v4+ team that placed third in the Carolina Cup
• Member of the 2v4+ team that placed fourth in the ACC Rowing Championships

• Fun Fact: She can play 5 instruments
• “I started rowing my sophomore year of high school to get in shape. Rowing was the first sport that I had ever played and I fell in love with the internal competition and drive to make myself better.”
