Frequently Asked Questions

What educational elements will be incorporated to this event?
Our friends with the Clemson University Science Outreach Center are excited to help facilitate an exciting and interactive halftime performance! The “Are You Smarter Than a Clemson College Student?” STEM Halftime Show will transform our halftime into an engaging and educational experience for visiting K–6 students. During halftime, volunteer students from each grade level will compete in a fast-paced science trivia contest against Clemson undergraduate science majors. All questions will be developed by the Science Outreach Center staff and aligned with South Carolina state science standards for grades K–6, providing students with an authentic opportunity to review and apply their classroom learning in a fun, high-energy setting. Between questions, participating Clemson students will briefly share what they are studying and their intended career paths, exposing youth to a variety of STEM fields and role models. This unique combination of content review, career exploration, and direct interaction with college students makes the halftime show an enriching, curriculum-connected experience that principals can confidently support as an extension of students’ science education!

Who should be our point of contact for our school?
We recommend this person be a full-time employee. (I.E. Teacher, Counselor, Vice Principal, etc.) that will be attending the game with the school. This individual will receive important information from Clemson Athletics regarding Education Day.

What if my class is older than grade 6?
Due to NCAA rules and regulations, those affiliated with any older schools than grade 6 must purchase tickets through our ticket office. To purchase tickets and for more information please call the ticket office at 1-800-CLEMSON or email CUTixOnline@Clemson.edu

I am a teacher or principal, what if I do not know the exact number of students, teachers or administrators attending?
We ask that you be as precise as possible when registering. We know that registering in advance does leave a window open for drops and add-ons. You will have time closer to the event to give Clemson Athletics your final headcount.

What if I need to change the headcount number after I have submitted the information?
Contact Sammy Roush with Clemson Athletics at sroush@clemson.edu to change any information pertaining to your group’s registration.

How will our school attendees get tickets to these games?
Tickets will not be needed for Education Day attendees. Each school will have a designated seating location in the arena which will be communicated to each group’s primary contact prior to the game.

What if parents want to attend the game but not as chaperones?
Parents are more than welcome to attend the game! They must purchase tickets through the ticket office by calling 1-800-CLEMSON or e-mailing CUTixOnline@Clemson.edu. We will have specific sections in the arena open for general fans and season ticket holders.

Can we/my students buy lunch at the game?
Students are welcome to bring their own lunches or purchase concessions when they arrive!

Do we have to pay for parking the bus?
Buses parking will be free. For drop off and pick up, buses are directed to pull in the North entrance of Littlejohn Coliseum and will be directed from there by game day staff where to proceed. Bus parking information will also be shared with the school contact prior to the game.

How much does the game cost?
Admission is free for all school administrators, teachers, chaperones and students 6th grade and under. We ask each school registers online in advance to guarantee their seating. The only cost schools will have to cover is transportation to and from the event.

How does the seating arrangement work?
Each school and class will be assigned to a specific section and/or rows based on the headcount submitted in their registration. We will send out the seating chart prior to the game so everyone aware of the seating arrangement. If you must change your headcount after submitting your registration, please reach out to Sammy Roush at sroush@clemson.edu prior to Friday, October 24th to make that adjustment.

Is handicapped seating available?
Yes! On the registration form, we ask if your class/group will need handicapped seating or accommodations. Handicapped seating will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. We will contact you directly if we cannot accommodate your request.

What educational elements will be implemented into the game?
We are partnering with the Clemson University Science Outreach Center for an educational halftime performance! Details about this presentation will come at a later date.

What if we need to leave before the end of the game?
Schools can leave when needed. It is understood that most buses must get back to their school district for the first round of school dismissals for the day. Your school is responsible to communicate effectively with your bus drivers pertaining to the timing for departure.

Who do we contact with any other questions or changes to our RSVP?
You can email Sammy Roush at sroush@clemson.edu with any further questions or changes to your RSVP.
