Women’s Track & Field Headed to Two Last Chance Meets This Weekend

The Clemson women’s track & field team will have student-athletes at two locations this weekend to participate in Last Chance Qualifiers for the NCAA Championships. On Friday, five women’s competitors will compete at the Arkansas Last Chance Meet in Fayetteville. On Saturday, four Lady Tigers are slated to compete at Virginia Tech’s Last Chance Meet.

Polly Hardy, who finished fourth in the ACC in the 60m hurdles, will take part in that event’s prelims at 4:30 PM Friday. If she qualifies for the final, that will be held at 6:40 PM. She has an NCAA provisional mark of 8.39 this season, but looks to improve on that mark this weekend.

Multi-event athletes Linda Buchholz and Liane Weber will both compete in the long jump on Friday at 2:00 PM. Both have qualified at least provisionally in the pentathlon (Weber automatic) for the NCAA national meet on March 9-10.

Gisele Oliveira. Della Clark will look to strengthen her provisional mark in the weight throw, which will be held at 4:00.

In Blacksburg, Thea Dix and Patrice McMillan will compete in the 800m run at 3:00 PM. Also that afternoon, All-ACC pole vaulter Caroline Kennedy is set for the pole vault while Rochelle Kokayko will compete in the weight throw. All four are looking for their first NCAA marks of the season.

News
