CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers (4-0) continued to ride its momentum from opening weekend and claimed the team’s third sweep of the season (25-22, 25-19, 25-22) over the North Carolina A&T Aggies (2-1). The win in the home opener marked the first time since 2014 that Clemson has started 4-0 in a season.
Junior Kennedy Wagner once again led the Tigers offensively. The pin attacker hit double-digit kills en route to grabbing her 400th career kill and finished with 14.5 points thanks to three total blocks. Senior Mia McGrath led all players with a pair of aces and senior Kate Hansen had a team-high hit and kill rate of .636. Junior Kate Simington’s five kills matched her season-high from the 2024 season and freshman Ecem Aksoy both made her collegiate debut and secured her first kill. Defensively, McGrath led the Tigers with 13 digs with McKenna Gildon finishing close behind at nine.
Clemson found itself in a battle through the first set in a game which saw the Tigers and the Aggies within two throughout. With the score 21-20 in favor of NC A&T, Wagner secured a trio of kills and a solo block to push Clemson past the Aggies in the first set, 25-22. The Tigers jumped out to an early five point lead in the second set and led by as many as 10 points on the way to a second set win. NC A&T would cut down the Clemson lead to five, but the Tigers would come out on top, 25-19.

The Tigers continue action at home on Friday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. with another matchup against North Carolina A&T.
