Sandt Named Co-Setter of the Week

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson setter Katherine Sandt has been named the ACC Co-Setter of the Week for matches played Sept. 9-13, the conference office announced Monday. The honor is Sandt’s first of her career and the first weekly ACC award for Clemson since Sept. 9-15, 2024, and was highlighted by the redshirt sophomore surpassing 1,000 career assists against USC Upstate.

Sandt, who is second in the ACC with 339 assists on the year, totaled a team-high 155 assists during the four-game stretch last week. This included a season-high 49 assists during Saturday’s match against Wofford. The Western Springs, Illinois native, facilitated a Clemson offense that hit .375 hitting percentage against Elon, which is the second-best hitting performance by the Tigers this season. Helping the Tigers to a perfect 9-0 season for the first time since 1999, she has clocked four 40+ assist performances this season, including three last week, that has helped lead Clemson to the highest assist total (447) and assist per set (13.15) in the ACC following three weeks of play.

Additionally, Sandt is second on the team with 102 digs (3.19 per set) this season and moved past the 300-dig career milestone. She clocked her second and third double-double of the year with double-digit assists and digs against USC Upstate and Wofford that included a season-high 22 digs vs. the Terriers – one shy of her career high. She sits 10th in the ACC in total digs to help the Tigers lead the ACC in that category (569). She rounds out her stats with 11 blocks on the year and eight aces

The Tigers return to Jervey Gym this week for the final weekend of nonconference play, when they host Georgetown, Norfolk State and Charleston Southern in the Big Orange Bash. Action is slated to begin on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. on ACCNX against Georgetown.
