PREVIEW

  • Clemson concludes its month-long home stand by hosting Florida State and Miami (Fla.) in the opening weekend of ACC play
  • Friday’s match against Florida State will be the 65th meeting all-time between the Tigers and Seminoles on the volleyball court with FSU leading the series, 44-20
  • Clemson last defeated Florida State Nov. 6, 2010 when the Tigers swept the Seminoles inside Jervey Gym
  • Sunday’s match vs. Miami marks the 36th time the Tigers and Hurricanes will be with Miami leading the series, 20-15
  • The last time the two programs met inside Jervey Gym was on Oct. 13, 2023, where Clemson claimed a 3-2 victory

WHAT A START

  • The 2025 roster have strung together a perfect 12-0 nonconference slate and start to the season
  • The 12-0 start marks only the sixth time in program history the Tigers have opened the season with at least 12 wins. Both the 12-0 start and 9-0 record at home are the best marks since 1999 in the respective categories.
  • Other times the program has started with at least a 12-0 record include: 1993 (13-0), 1994 & 1997 (14-0), 1992 (15-0) and 1999 (16-0)
  • The Tigers were last undefeated in nonconference play on home court in 2021 – Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr’s inaugural season at the helm of the program
  • Not only is the 12-0 start the best start since 1999, it marks the longest winning streak by the program since the 2007 season when Clemson strung together 17 wins from Sept. 14-Oct. 30
  • Entering conference play, Clemson is the only ACC program undefeated

GREAT KATE

  • Middle hitter Kate Hansen is a force at the net for the Tigers providing a threat on both offense and defense
  • A former Texas Tech transfer before the 2024 season, Hansen has come into her own for the Tigers by averaging 2.39 points per set at Clemson, including 0.82 blocks per set
  • In 2025, she leads the roster with 33 total blocks (0.79 per set) and with a .395 hitting percentage
  • She was named the Big Orange Bash MVP after a career weekend that included 14 kills, seven blocks and two aces against Georgetown
  • Following opening weekend, Hansen was named an all-tournament selection at the Gamecock Classic after tallying 28 kills, 10 blocks, 10 digs and two aces
  • She’s currently third on the team in total kills (113)
  • The athletic gene runs in her family, as her older brother, Hayden Hansen, is a tight end with the Florida Gators
