2010-11 Clemson Sports Notes

• Clemson currently has eight of its 19 teams ranked in the top 25, including three who finished their seasons in the top 25: women’s indoor track and field (11), men’s indoor track and field (22) and men’s swimming (25). Women’s outdoor track and field (4), rowing (11), baseball (15), women’s tennis (15) and golf (25) are all currently ranked, but competing in season with a top 25 ranking. • Clemson’s men’s basketball, women’s tennis, rowing, men’s golf and baseball teams have or will receive team NCAA bids this year. • Clemson will go to a bowl game, the NCAA Basketball tournament and the NCAA Baseball tournament for the third consecutive year, a first in school history. Clemson will join Florida State as the only schools in the nation to play in all three postseason events each of the last three years. • It was the fourth straight NCAA bid for the men’s basketball team, a first in school history. • The women’s track and field team has won the last four ACC Championships over two years, each of the last two indoor and outdoor ACC Championships. • Both the men’s and women’s indoor track teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation at the NCAA meet, a first for the program since the 2001-02 academic year. • The women’s rowing team is making its third straight team appearance at the NCAA Championships. There are only 16 teams selected so the team is guaranteed a sweet 16 finish this year. • The women’s tennis team has reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in the last 10 years and has now won at least one NCAA Tournament match in 10 consecutive years. • The Clemson baseball team is ranked 15th in the nation and will be selected for the NCAA Tournament for the 24th time in the last 25 years. • Clemson’s football and golf teams ranked in the top 10 percent in the nation for APR scores according to an NCAA release on Tuesday.
