OAK RIDGE, TN – The Clemson rowing team competed in the first day of the South & Central Regionals Saturday. The teams competed in the prelims and semifinals to set up the finals that will take place on Sunday.
In the Open Four, Clemson finished second in their heat to move to the A/B semifinals. They then took first in their heat and will compete in the A final at 10:40 a.m. against Virginia’s A, B and C crews, Ohio State and Wisconsin.
Clemson’s Varsity Four took second in the prelim and third in the heat of the A/B semifinals. The Tigers moved on to the A finals and will race against Michigan, Virginia, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Iowa at 11:20 a.m.
The Tigers’ Second Varsity Eight crew took second in the prelims and third in their semifinal heat. They will compete in the A final against Tennessee, Ohio State, Virginia, Wisconsin and Michigan at 11:40 a.m.
In the Varsity Eight competition, Clemson took second in the prelims and third in the semifinals to move on to the A final Sunday at 12:00 p.m. The Tigers will face Michigan, Virginia, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Tennessee.
