CLEMSON, SC – First-year Head Coach Todd Bramble announced the 2001 schedule for the Clemson women’s soccer team Thursday.
After two exhibition matches, Clemson will open the 2001 season at home with a match against Richmond on September 2.
Clemson will make its only regular-season Tournament appearance in the San Diego Tournament in San Diego, CA on September 21-23. At this tournament, Clemson will play UCLA and San Diego.
The Lady Tigers will play 10 home matches including ACC foes Florida State, Virginia, Duke, and N.C. State. Clemson will also play host to South Carolina on Tuesday, October 2.
Clemson will play at Florida on November 3, before playing in the ACC Tournament on November 8-11 at Winston-Salem, NC.
Clemson is returning 20 letterwinners and eight starters from the 2000 team that finished 19-3-1 overall and finished first in the ACC regular season race with a 5-1-1 record. Clemson advanced to the NCAA Final Eight last season. The Lady Tigers have been to the NCAA Final Eight three of the last four seasons. National freshman of the Year winner Lindsay Browne had 13 goals and 12 assists for 38 points as she led the 2000 team in scoring. The Lady Tigers finished seventh in the final Soccer America poll and fifth in both the NSCAA and soccertimes.com polls.
