The Clemson rowing team will travel to Oak Ridge, TN this weekend to take on Cincinnati and Dartmouth. The event will take place on Lake Melton, the same site that will play host to the 2005 South Region Championships in May. The races are scheduled to get underway at 8:00 AM on Saturday, March 26.

The three schools will be competing in six events, the varsity 8+, second varsity 8+, varsity 4+, second varsity 4+, novice 8+, and second novice 8+. Each school is slated to have one boat in each race.

Clemson had a strong start to its spring rowing season, winning all five events in a dual regatta with Eastern Michigan on March 5. The Tigers followed that by winning four of five events in the five-team Clemson Challenge last weekend. Clemson defeated the likes of Buffalo, Indiana, Purdue, and Marist in all but the varsity 8+ race.

The highlight of the Clemson Challenge was the performance of the second varsity 8+, which completed the 2,000m course in 6:59.6, ahead of six competing boats. The Tigers defeated second-place Indiana by 12 seconds. The second varsity 8+ was selected as the ACC Crew of the Week on Monday, March 21.
