Lady Tigers Drop Exhibition Opener

Kristen Strutz scored what proved to be the winning goal late in the first half as Texas A&M defeated Clemson 2-1 in an exhibition women’s soccer match at Clemson, SC Wednesday night.

Clemson scored first at the 19:45 mark as freshman Kelly Schneider scored with assists by Lydia Vandenbergh and Kate Clifton. Texas A&M scored the tying goal at the 30:49 point as Madison Klovstad scored with an assist by Amanda Burke. Strutz scored the winning goal with 31:09 gone in the match. The goal was unassisted.

The Lady Tigers will play Vanderbilt on Sunday August 24 in another exhibition match in Atlanta GA. Clemson will open the 2003 season on Friday August 29 at 7:30 p.m. against South Carolina at the Lady Tigers’ Riggs Field.
