“Behind the Scenes…Clemson Athletics” Program Held for Select Clemson Students

First-year students from the College of Business and Behavioral Science and Health Education and Human Development Department visited IPTAY on Wednesday, October 7, for a behind the scenes look at Clemson Athletics and career opportunities.

Students learned about many aspects of the Clemson athletic department, including IPTAY, the Collegiate Club, marketing and licensing, community relations and game day activities.

Bill D’Andrea, Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs, welcomed the students and gave an overview of IPTAY and the impact its fundraising has on Clemson University.

Lindsey Leonard, Assistant Executive Director of IPTAY, discussed the Collegiate Club and encouraged the students to gain experience with organizations that interest them.

Mike Money, Director of Marketing, gave an overview of licensing and talked about the value of the Clemson Tiger Paw in marketing and how the University protects the use of the logo.

Linda White, Director of Community Relations, discussed how the community service outreach program was started at Clemson. Michelle Nance, Director of the Solid Orange Squad and member of the rowing team, shared about the Solid Orange Squad and the Be A T.I.G.E.R.! program.

John Seketa, Assistant Athletic Director of Event Promotions, talked about the coordination required to facilitate game day events.

Following the speakers, students toured the West Endzone and had the opportunity to touch Howard’s Rock and run down the Hill.
