Hamilton Earns First Team All-ACC Honors Friday

Schedule Update

The ACC announced a schedule change for Saturday, May 11. Clemson will kick off action in the discus at 10 a.m. The Tigers will take the track at 12:05 p.m. with the women’s 4x100m. The conference championship meet is slated to conclude with the men’s 4x400m relay at 2:50 p.m.

Hamilton Earns First Team All-ACC Honors Friday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Clemson Track & Field’s Anthony Hamilton cleared a height of 2.11m (6-11) – his career best – in Friday’s high jump to place third overall at the 2019 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of the University of Virginia. With his finish, Hamilton secured First Team All-ACC honors – a one-spot improvement from his fourth-place finish at the 2019 ACC Indoor Championships. The sophomore also helped secure six of the Tigers’ 18.5 points through Friday’s action.

The Clemson women saw their first score as Janell Fullerton earned Second Team All-ACC honors in the women’s shot put. Fullerton threw for 15.45m (50-8.25) to place sixth overall, tallying three points in the process.

On the track, the Tigers saw seven qualifiers advance to Saturday’s finals.

On the men’s side, Marcus Parker (100m), Malik Epps (800m) and LaFranz Campbell (110mH) all qualified in their respective events. Parker smashed Friday’s competition, winning prelims outright by more than 0.20 seconds.

The women saw qualifying performances from Rebekah Smith (100m), Andrea Foster (800m), Kamryn McIntosh (800m) and Ebony Williams (100mH). Smith automatically qualified after winning heat No. 2 with a time of 11.36 seconds. McIntosh (2:07.84) was the first to finish in heat No. 4, while Foster (2:07.07) was the third-highest finisher among all heats.
