Virginia Defeats Clemson 2-0 in ACC Men’s Soccer Tournament

BOYDS, MD–Virginia scored two goals midway in the first half, 2:43 apart, as the Cavaliers defeated Clemson 2-0 in the quarterfinal round of the 20th Annual ACC Men’s Soccer Championship at the Soccerplex in Boyds, MD Wednesday afternoon.

Virginia, was the third seed and now has a 14-3 record. Clemson seeded sixth has a 12-4-2 record. Virginia is ranked third nationally, while the Tigers are ranked sixth.

The Cavaliers Yannick Reyering scored with an assist by Nico Colaluca at the 19:33 mark.

Adam Cristman scored and gave Virginia a 2-0 advantage with an assist by Jonathan Villanueva 2:43 later after the first goal at the 22:16 mark.

Clemson will await word for a NCAA Tournament selection Monday afternoon. The NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament selection show will be on ESPNews on Monday, November 6, between 4 and 5 p.m Eastern Time.
