Leduc & Navarro’s Doubles Run Ends in NCAA Sweet 16

CLEMSON, S.C. – A great 2017-18 doubles campaign came to an end for Clemson juniors Marie-Alexandre Leduc and Fernanda Navarro in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Doubles Championships on Friday afternoon in Winston-Salem, N.C. With the loss, the Tiger duo finished the year with a 20-10 overall record.

Leduc and Navarro, ranked 21st nationally, faced the ninth-ranked doubles team in the nation, Ellyse Hamlin and Kaitlyn McCarthy of Duke, in Friday’s Round of 16. The Tigers lost a close battle in the first set, 7-5, before the Blue Devil duo claimed the second set, 6-2.

In addition to the 20-10 overall record, Leduc and Navarro went 11-6 in dual matches and 6-2 in ACC dual matches during the spring season. The pair also recorded five wins over nationally-ranked doubles opponents on the year.
