Clemson Men’s Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

CLEMSON, S.C. – The 2014 ACC Tournament champion Clemson men’s soccer team has announced its 2015 spring schedule. The Tigers will play five games, four of which will be played at home and are open to the public. 

Clemson kicks off the spring schedule on Thursday, March 12 against the Charleston Battery at Historic Riggs Field. Charleston, coached by former Indiana University standout Mike Anhaeuser, is a member of the United Soccer League Professional Division, a Division III professional league sanctioned by U.S. Soccer. 

Clemson’s next match comes against Atlanta Silverbacks FC on March 28 at 1 p.m., also at Historic Riggs Field. Atlanta is a member of the North American Soccer League, a Division II professional league sanctioned by U.S. Soccer.

The final two home matches of the spring season come on April 3 and April 11, respectively. On April 3, Clemson hosts UNC Greensboro at 5 p.m. The Spartans finished the 2014 season with a  6-12-2 overall record and a 5-4-1 record in the Southern Conference. The Davidson Wildcats visit on Saturday, April 11 at 4 p.m. Davidson finished the 2014 season with a 10-2-6 overall record, including a win over eventual national champion Virginia, and a 4-2-2 record within the Atlantic 10. 

Clemson visits High Point on Sunday, April 19 at 6 p.m. to wrap up the spring schedule. The Panthers finished the 2014 season with a 10-8-2 overall record and boasted a 6-2-1 record within the Big South Conference.
