LAS VEGAS Nev. — Clemson started off day one of the Pac-12 Invitational competing in the 1V8+, 2V8+, 1V4+ and 2V4+ heats.
The Tigers began the morning in the 2V4+ race, clocking in at 7:40.79 for a third-place finish before the 1V4+ came out with an impressive second-place finish at 7:19.92, defeating Iowa and Washington State.
The 2V8 continued to keep Clemson’s momentum going, taking second place in their heat with a time of 6:42.02, once again outlasting Iowa and Washington State, before the 1V8 finished fourth, clocking in at 6:47.83.
“Our team is racing hard out here and showing that Clemson grit,” remarked Head Coach Stephen Frazier Wong. “The 1V4 and 2V8 led the way for us today with strong second place finishes behind 8th ranked University of Washington. We’re looking forward to another strong session tomorrow morning.”
