Clemson Compliance Corner - Football NLI Early Signing Period Reminders - December 18-20, 2019
As an IPTAY member, you are considered a representative of an institution’s athletics interests (i.e., booster) for Clemson University. Given your status as a booster, it is important to remember you have additional NCAA parameters concerning prospective-student-athletes. In general, the NCAA considers prospects to be 9th – 12th graders or any other unofficial visitors, prep school students, and junior college student-athletes.
DI Football’s National Letter of Intent Early Signing Period is Wednesday, December 18 to Friday, December 20, 2019. Accordingly, please remember the following information:
- It is not permissible for a booster to contact a prospect or his/her parents (or legal guardians) for the purpose of soliciting recruitment to Clemson. Contact includes:
- Written Correspondence
- In-Person Contact
- Phone Calls
- Social Media
- Boosters may not contact a prospect’s high school/club coach, principal, or counselor in an attempt to contact or evaluate the prospect.
- Boosters may not provide tickets to an athletic event to a prospect or a prospect’s family or friends.
- Even after a prospect signs an NLI, these rules continue to apply.
