Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (11-3) is coming off of a 60-48 road loss to Boston College in its ACC opener in Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Jan. 2. Junior Nelly Perry and sophomore Danielle Edwards scored 18 and 11 points, respectively, in the contest.
  • The Tigers finished nonconference play with an 11-2 record, the program’s best non-conference record since the 2003-04 season.
  • Perry leads Clemson in scoring (14.9 ppg), assists (3.4 apg) and minutes played (32.1 mpg). Perry’s scoring average puts her in a tie for 10th among all players in the ACC.
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards has started all 14 games for the Tigers at the point guard position and is tied for second on the team in scoring at 10.0 ppg. She leads the team in steals (2.4 spg), a figure which ranks tied for sixth in the ACC.
  • Sophomore Aliyah Collier leads the team in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and is tied for second on the team in scoring at 10.0 ppg. Collier is shooting .592 (45-for-76) from field goal range, a figure that is fourth among all conference players. Her rebounding numbers are also among the best in the ACC, as she ranks ninth in defensive rebounds per game (4.8) and 10th in rebounds per game (7.2).
  • Before falling to No. 25 Oregon on Dec. 12, Clemson won its first eight games of the season, the program’s best start since the 1998-99 season. 

Series Information:

  • Syracuse is 5-0 against Clemson all-time. The first game of the series was played in 2010-11 at the Bahamas Sunsplash Shootout in Nassau, Bahamas.
  • The most recent meeting between the two teams was an 83-62 Orange victory in Syracuse, N.Y. on Feb. 4, 2016. Danielle Edwards recorded a double-double in the contest, with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Nelly Perry and Victoria Cardaci were also in double figures, with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
