Clemson vs. Florida StateCoach Lauren CouchLauren has been a key factor. She has a great personality. She is always encouraging the team, and she is always ready when her number is called. I know she was nervous to start, but she got out there and did exactly what we needed her to do. When she scored, you could tell how excited the team was for her. We will miss Lauren. We will miss her being silly, but also just encouraging the young kids. She always had a positive word to say to them. She really pushed us in practice. She just wanted to help us in any way she could and she did.Senior LeadershipMason and Pauldo being able to go through this program for four years helped the younger kids to look up to them. They really pushed the younger girls in practice. Seeing Mason block shots is a big deal to the young kids. It was important. I’m glad the younger girls got a chance to see them play. Everybody has their thing they will take from the seniors. The freshmen were kind of thrust in to some things this year and had to learn on the job, but the seniors were always there to say “you got it. You’re gonna mess up, but you got it.” They remember being a freshman and how hard it was. We are definitely going to miss them, but I’m also excited about the future. On Mason and Pauldo If you are a competitor, you respect another person who competes. That is what happened between Pauldo and Mason. Yeah, they play the same position but sometimes they were out there together.
