Clemson Sweeps Weekly Outdoor Track And Field Honors

Greensboro, N.C. – Clemson’s Todd Matthews and Keke Elder were named the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Performers for the Week after both claimed individual titles and NCAA provisional qualifying times at the Florida Relay this past weekend.

Matthews, a sophomore from Trenton, NJ, was named the recipient of the Percy Beard Award, given annually to the top hurdler at the Florida Relays, for the second year in a row after capturing the 110 meter hurdles in a NCAA provisional time of 13.85. He followed that performance by anchoring the Clemson Tigers’ shuttle hurdle relay team that claimed a first-place finish with a time of 56.05.

Elder, a sophomore from Atlanta, Ga., won the 100 meter hurdles in a career-best and NCAA provisional time of 13.58 seconds. She was also a member of the Tigers’ 4×100 meter relay team, that placed first in the event with a time of 46.27 seconds.
