Clemson Sweeps Maryland, 7-0

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s tennis team swept doubles and singles competition to defeat the University of Maryland 7-0 in the opening day of the Clemson Spring Classic at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. With the win, the Tigers improve to 4-4 overall on the season and 1-0 in the ACC.

After winning all three doubles matches and capturing the doubles point, Clemson went on to win all six singles matches. The Tigers lost only won set in during both singles and doubles competition.

Jamin Thompson and Goran Sterijowski each picked up singles wins for the Tigers at the No.1 and No. 2 positions respectively. Senior Marko Gojanvoic was victorious at No. 3 while Micah Thompson won in straight sets at the No. 4 position. Madreadi Skinner defeated Maryland’s John Murchinson at No. 5 while Damiisa Robinson dominated his match at the No. 6 position.
