Blossomgame a Candidate for Senior CLASS Award

CLEMSON, S.C. — Senior forward Jaron Blossomgame has been named a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award, an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School. The Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and honors a student-athlete who has excelled in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.

Blossomgame earned his undergraduate degree in sociology in August 2016, and is currently enrolled in youth development leadership graduate classes at Clemson. He is one of three graduates on Clemson’s 2016-17 roster.

On the court, the Alpharetta, Ga., native is the Tigers’ leading scorer at 17.8 points per game. It is the third straight season he has led Clemson in scoring. Last season, he was one of five players named to the All-ACC First Team, and has a chance to become the first player in Clemson history to achieve the honor twice in his career.

The 30 candidates will be narrowed to a field of 10 finalists in February, and those names will be placed on an official ballot. A nationwide voting system of media, coaches and fans will determine the candidate who bests exemplifies excellence in the community, classroom, character and competition.
