Tigers Complete Final Home Indoor Meet of the Season

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers wrapped up the final day of the Tiger Paw Invitational on Saturday at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex.

“Overall, this is the best both teams have looked overall this year,” Director of Track and Field Mark Elliott said. “It’s at the right time as we are going into ACC’s. I believe Tiger Paw is the best indoor meet in the country.”

To kick off day two of racing and the final home indoor meet, the program honored 12 senior Tigers as they were rewarded with their senior plaques.

With Gladys Chepngetich’s indoor personal best of 2:01.64 in the women’s 800 meters, she moved her name up to the seventh fastest time currently in the country. Freshman Garrett Brown also cut significant time off of his 3k to take the No. 6 spot on the Clemson all-time list.

With a weekend full of personal bests, 13 were set on day two of the Tiger Paw Invitational. In addition, both the men’s and women’s 4×400 teams set new season’s bests before they head into the postseason.

Meet Highlights:

In the women’s 800 meters, both Gladys Chepngetich and Judy Kosegi move their names up the all-time list with their personal bests. Chepngetich takes the No.2 spot with her 2nd place finish time of 2:01.64. Kosegi earned spot No.5 with her time of 2:03.09 finishing in 7th place at the meet.
Silvia Jelelgo and Madelyn Dinneen also set personal bests in the 800 meters while Jessica McLean set a season best in this distance.
Blaik Slavinski moves his name up to the No.5 spot on the all-time list in the men’s 800 with his personal best time of 1:47.65 while earning 4th place in the race.
Also in the men’s 800 meters, Matthew Rauci set a personal best time of 1:55.42.
Jessica Johnson tied her season best in the high jump with her jump of 1.61m.
Daniel Kidd earns a season’s best in the 200m with a time of 21.68.
Garrett Brown improves his mark to No.6 on the all-time list with his 3000m time of 8:04.68. This personal best earned him 2nd place.
Also in the men’s 3000m, Dylan Nolan earned a personal best of 8:35.21.
Madison Roush sets a new personal best in the women’s 3000m with her time of 9:35.38.
In the women’s 200m dash, Mckenzie Calloway tied her personal best while Mackenzie Osher and Isabelle Kapoor also earned personal bests.
Both the men’s and women’s 4x400m teams set season bests.
