CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson wrapped up its second indoor home meet of the season as the Tigers completed the Clemson Invitational on Saturday at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex. Shining bright on the day was sophomore Gladys Chepngetich as she set the new program and facility record in the women’s 1000 meters with a world-leading time of 2:39.99.

The Tigers completed the meet with 15, first-place finishes in a variety of events as Clemson dominated on the track and in the field. Multiple athletes recorded all-time performances to get their names added or moved up on the top-10 list.

Meet Highlights:

  • Gladys Chepngetich set the school record in the 1000m run, finishing in 2:39.99.
  • Judy Kosgei and Silvia Jelelgo join Chepngetich in Clemson’s all-time top 5. Kosgei’s 2:41.70 is the second fastest time in program history and Jelelgo’s 2:45.48 is fifth.
  • Brian Kweyei and Blaik Slavinski both break into the Clemson top-5 in the 600m run, placing 1-2 in the event with times of 1:16.43 and 1:16.98 respectively.
  • Shantae Foreman jumped 13.84m in the triple jump, earning her the second longest triple jump in program history.
  • Aniyah Kitt ran a 23.16 in the 200m, placing fifth all time in Clemson’s record book.
  • Kirstin Hoffman cleared 3.97m on her pole vault, the sixth highest pole vault in Clemson history, en route to winning the event.
  • Garrett Brown won the 3000m run with a time of 8:08.90, the ninth fastest 3000 in Clemson history.
  • Mackenzie Osher’s 53.76 400m run won the event and put her ninth in program history.
  • Drake Risser won the men’s pole vault by clearing 4.57m.
  • Matthew Auble won the weight throw with mark of 19.19m.
  • Jalen Johnson won the 200m dash with a time of 20.95.
  • Christianne Akintayo threw 13.27m in the shot put, winning the event.
  • Jessica McLean won the 600m after running a 1:33.72.
  • Oneka Wilson won the 60 meter hurdles as she had the fastest time in both the prelims and finals of the event.
  • Shanque Williams won the 300m with a time of 38.16.
  • Jessica Johnson and Nia Christie tied for first in the high jump, both clearing 1.61m.
  • Clemson’s A relay won the women’s 4×400 in 3:35.90.
