PHILADELPHIA – Clemson’s Janell Fullerton set the Tigers’ No. 2 all-time mark in the shot put Thursday at the 125th Penn Relays. The sophomore achieved a best heave of 16.26m (53-4.25) on her third attempt of the day. Fullerton’s throw, which was the furthest by any Clemson shot putter since 2001, was also good second place overall in college section and is currently the top mark in the ACC.
Also PRing for the throws group was junior Grayce French, who moved from No. 10 to eighth all-time in the discus. French’s best attempt of 46.78m (153-5) earned her a fourth-place finish in Thursday’s college section.
On the track, the combination of Kendra Clarke, Andrea Foster, Courtashia Felton and Kamryn McIntosh registered a fifth-place finish in the women’s 4x400m relay Thursday evening. Clarke, Foster, Felton and McIntosh – who competed in the event for the first time together this season – ran a solid 3:39.98.
